Party Options

Our Pony Parties are proving to be great fun – we have done several of these over the past two years and all have been a huge success.

The parties can take place at Oak Farm, or at your own home, or somewhere else if you prefer. During the winter months, we have an arrangement with Checkendon Equestrian to hire their indoor arena at a rate of £25 per hour. Weekend parties are normally arranged on a Sunday afternoon; weekday parties offer more flexibility with timings.

All parties are tailored to individual requirements, and priced on an individual basis, but the following format works well:

  • 2-4 ponies each with a leader – 2 ponies works well for numbers up to around 10 children or 3-4 ponies if numbers are higher – the children will be split into 2-4 teams
  • 1-2 hours, depending on numbers
  • ‘Free’ (but led where appropriate) riding to start with – letting the children have a ride on the ponies before we start the games (useful for those who may not have ridden before)
  • A number of games to be played on the ponies with the children swapping over during and in between games. For a themed party, some of the games will be themed accordingly
  • Rosettes (in colours of your choice) for the children, with a special rosette for the birthday child
  • Surprise gift for the birthday child
  • Parties can be themed with the ponies in fancy dress eg Western, Princess (Disney & others), Superheroes, Smurfs, Nurse, Lion, Unicorns, Knights, Dragons, Witches plus various other options (photos of the ponies in their outfits are available on request)

The price will include the provision and fitting of riding helmets for the children.

A ‘Team Manager’ (provided by the parents) will be required for each team. This is just a sensible adult who can organise the children and help those who may not have understood how to play each game!

After the party, you can have a picnic on the adjacent Maidensgrove Common; or our local pub, The Five Horseshoes, offers birthday lunches/teas.

Alternatively, we can bring to your home (provided there is suitable space) one or more ponies and give Pony Rides to the children or even do some games.
